Happy New Year!

Posted in Uncategorized at 5:16 pm by serenamuse

Happy New Year to you all. I have decided to face this year with an attitude of hope. The Holidays went well. I even managed to go Ice skating! I kept to my diet fairly well – though over did it on the mixed roasted nuts and now need to work on that little squish that accumulated. One can over do it on a vegan diet! I was given a memory foam mattress topper and must say it feels pretty good. I’ve been sleeping in the past few days trying to be nice to my body. I am inventing new smoothies and eating lots of good salads. So far my favorite smoothie is frozen raspberries (going to try strawberries today), pineapple juice, one fresh lime squeezed, half a banana, a little stevia or honey and two table spoons flax seed. Sort of like a virgin daiquiri. I have been doing Boogie to the wii and hope to start walking while the snow levels are down. School does not start again for me till later in the month, so going to focus on painting, resting up and exercise each day. Going to focus on being a good partner and mother. Going to make sure I have some quiet time to talk to God each day. What are you folks doing to try and approach this new year with positive energy?

Well, reading your post helped me be a little more positive. My job is taking a lot out of me and I am really hurting, staying positive at times seems impossible, but that is a good question to think about because if I don’t try to be positive, I know I won’t be.

I do read out of a couple books when I start my day, one is religious, and one is kind if a positive thinking book. I have noticed that my days go better when I read first thing. Music helps too.

Oh, yes, music and reading can be a big help. I listen to books on tape when I am driving or to music that makes me want to sing. I too find if I take a few minutes in the morning to contemplate what I want to happen that day (I talk to God, but for those who don’t I think any positive contemplation helps) it helps me to feel validated. Even if I set out only to accomplish one simple task, it makes me feel better than just drifting along.
